Thank you for diagnosing my fibroids. Thank you for being gentle in advising me to schedule a pelvic ultrasound. Thank you for easing my fears. Thank you for telling me that we’d monitor them for a while and not immediately urge me into surgery. Thank you for being patient with me when I decided I wanted to continue to stall on treatment even after the second ultrasound showed that they’d grown in size and number.

Thank you for sharing your story. Thank you for being encouraging and supportive. Thank you for not making me feel ashamed when I finally came to the realization that they wouldn’t “go away” on their own. Thank you for being “ready” when I decided to proceed with surgery.

Thank you for being diligent in removing them all- even the small, blueberry-sized masses. Thank you for intentionally saving the integrity of my uterus. Thank you for giving me a neat incision. Thank you for sending the pictures of my fibroids to my dad. Thank you for ensuring that I had adequate post-operative pain medication. Thank you for your instructions.
